Today’s post will not be a recipe as things have been crazy busy here lately. I promise to post more goodies soon! Last weekend Jack and Ewan swam in the City Meet and I have been busy baking up a storm since then for the swim banquet which was last night.
The attendance for the banquet kept creeping up and reached 140 people. I feared there may not be enough cake but luckily there was. Leftovers to give away even!
Here is a glimpse of what has had me busy lately…..
The highlight of the banquet though was Jack and Ewan. They both got awards in their first year on the swim team. Jack got MVP for the 6 and under group. Ewan got Coaches Choice Award for the 6 and under group. Ewan in particular improved greatly. He couldn’t swim a whole lap at the beginning of the season and by City Meet he beat his older brother!! Ewan got 13th place for the 6 and under 25 freestyle, Jack got 19th place. Their relay for 100 freestyle took 12th place.
Now with swim over things may settle a little. They will be even better once school starts!! More recipes to come next week….
These are amazing. One talented Mum. Your children are very lucky. Emma.
Thank you! The kids were very excited and I let them help decorate a little. Luckily they didn’t do any damage! They most enjoyed licking the beaters with the frosting on them!
Lol I love the little pretzel arms!! Amazing, as always π
Thanks! That idea came from Pinterest. So many neat ideas on there!
Woe amazing:-) lucky kids
They certainly had fun! Thanks!
congratulations to your boys. Those cakes are creative and awesome π
Thanks! Thank you to Pinterest….I don’t always come up with creative ideas in my own! I can bake the cakes and frost them, the cute decorating doesn’t always come to mind. I myself am more all about how the cake tastes. This time all lucked out as they tasted awesome and were cute too.
Congratulations to your little ones!! And those cakes are Awesome Gretchen!!! π
Thanks so much! I was thrilled with them and even more thrilled that they got to the banquet without any fingers swiped through them!
wow, your kids area great, congratulations! Your cakes look wonderful, you are a great mom and they will remember it too all their life! π
I’m surprised you had time to post anything at all! Then again, I’m glad you did find time to tell us about your boys’ triumphs in the pool. How great is that! And your cakes! Love the “action effects” of the swim meet, where arms and legs are seen coming out of the water. Now, step away from the monitor and relax for a bit. π
Thank you so much. Needless to say everyone loved the pretzel swimmers! We are indeed quite proud of our boys, not bad for their first year on the team. I am enjoying a girls’ only weekend in the mountains with my mom so I’ve enjoyed the down time. I brought the laptop to draft a post or two but haven’t gotten around to it! We also played with a spaghetti squash from the garden and were successful, but I will need to re-create it for the blog since I didn’t bother writing any measurements down and taking photos!
Oh. My. Goodness. AMAZING!! You are so talented!! And your boys are VERY lucky π
Thank you so much! We certainly enjoyed them all, as did everyone else. I seemed to have created so e culinary monsters though, they keep giving me cake ideas now!
