Another month has come and gone. I’m very excited about it being August, it means the boys start school soon!! Yeah me!! I may get my sanity back yet. If nothing else I’ll at least be able to enjoy the silence for a short while. Sean will be in preschool for the first time and only gone mornings, but that alone is enough time away from him to get more done. Plus he talks ALL THE TIME, I look forward to it being a little more quiet.
So with another month under our belts it’s time for an In My Kitchen post. Our gracious host Celia at Fig Jam and Lime Cordial is busy with family so instead of clicking on the usual links in the sidebar look for everyone’s links in the comments section of her post.
Last month I forgot a few things for my In My Kitchen post so I’ll get them in this month. My parents moved up to their newly renovated mountain house full time in June. This means they downsized TREMENDOUSLY, thus resulting in my getting first pick of everything they were getting rid of. Among those goodies are this handmade cup and saucer set, a Limoges set (actually two sets as my set was somehow still at their house…Mom and I got them at a flea market in Paris years ago), and these lovely tartelette pans. We already used them for fruit tarts Father’s Day.
Another month has flown by and it’s time for an In My Kitchen post. Thanks to Celia over at Fig Jam and Lime Cordial for hosting this awesome monthly event.
In My kitchen this month we had strawberries. LOTS! We picked four gallons the first weekend in May and besides shoving them in our mouths I made strawberry vanilla jam and strawberry sauce. Not pictured is another strawberry jam sweetened with honey and flavored with thyme.
It seems another month has passed. While our kitchen has been pretty quiet lately due to my recent surgery (curious and need a laugh, check this out), we have still had a busy month. Thanks as always go to Celia at Fig Jam and Lime Cordial for hosting such a fun round up of posts.
This month in my kitchen the boys have been showing more curiosity and desire to learn. It began early in the month the boys waking up early and getting ready to prepare breakfast in bed for Mommy and Daddy. They made this adorable list (they are rather obsessed with notebooks right now)! Continue reading →
How did it get to be a new year already?! The holidays came and went, now is the aftermath of cleanup. More importantly, school begins again in a few days. Yeah! Anyway, it’s time to join Celia at Fig Jam and Lime Cordial for another In My Kitchen post.
Things were busy here as usual over the holidays. Josh’s mom was here for nine days so we were up to our usual chaos plus a houseguest. Everyone had fun and now it is back to reality. We baked lots of cookies and several cakes as gifts and some to keep. In all the madness though, I realized I didn’t get a single picture. So this month it seems there are no food pictures for my IMK post, but believe me, we ate plenty this month. And all delicious!
I am joining Celia over at Fig Jam and Lime Cordial again for another In My Kitchen post. What a busy month we had in September.
First my mom returned from a trip to Europe. She and my dad went to Amsterdam and then traveled in Germany. My mom went to an art class in Berlin and did some shopping there. Among the goodies she bought were chocolate for us. She went to the Ritter Sport store where you can design your own chocolate bar. Imagine the fun the boys would have there!! She brought back a custom bar for each of the boys and one for me and Josh along with some Jamaican rum chocolates. My friend Jens also sent some seasonal flavors home with my dad, thanks a bunch! Yummy! Continue reading →
