This is one of those posts I planned on getting up a while ago. With a French liqueur it was going to be my tie in to the Tour de France. Seeing as how the race ended last weekend that clearly didn’t happen!
We first saw St. Germain on a cocktail menu at the tapas restaurant we went to for Ewan’s birthday last year and were intrigued. It took us some time, but we finally got a bottle. After some research I found the Blueberry Smash. This is our take on it. The timing was perfect since we just picked two gallons of blueberries!
For the past two Sundays we have been blackberry picking. Last weekend I took the boys out early Father’s Day morning and we had great success. I had my eye on some wild blackberry bushes that we always drove by on the way to preschool. I decided early Sunday morning was the best time to pick since these bushes are on a somewhat busy road with several manufacturing facilities, which means work traffic coming and going. For this pasta salad I was going for high fiber and a Southwest flare. I used Dreamfields pasta which has a good amount of fiber and a low glycemic rating. Add in the black beans and you have a high fiber dish.
