Last summer we had a new Kroger open nearby. Since it was summer break I had all three boys with me when I went to the grand opening. They quite enjoyed themselves, between all the samples and seeing many of their friends it was a fun day.

It was after a trip to the farmer’s market when I got an eggplant that I first made this dip for the boys. It was their first time having eggplant, that I can remember anyway. I quickly realized they like eggplant. We planted some that summer!
Unfortunately for us we weren’t able to harvest many eggplants last year. It wasn’t the best year for anything other than tomatoes in the garden. We continued to get them at the market though and tried cooking it several different ways. Ewan was the biggest fan, though the other boys liked it as well.
Need a way to jazz up your cheese plate? Spice up your life with some marinated feta cheese! It is beyond easy and yet the resulting cheese is so full of flavor.
With our herbs finally growing well it is time to have some fun. All right, the fun may have already started with plenty of minty cocktails. Mint grows and spreads really well so we have LOTS. As I mentioned in the previous post we had my parents over for cocktail hour this past weekend. It was a payoff since they watched the boys for six out of seven days! It wasn’t much trouble though, I love appetizers and was looking forward to test out a new idea.
